This rotunda takes us many decades back in time. The stone houses of the shepherds were built the same way on the White Mountains.
In spring, the shepherds led their ylocks to the mountains and they came back to their villages in autumn. They used to milk their sheep at the rotundas (coumos) to boil the milk, to make cheese and they would also shear the sheep there.
Today some small rotundas in ruins are still found on the mountains. And there, master Yorgis gives you the chance to form a complete picture of Coumos; to admire the Cretan architecture of the past, which is a fine as that of nowadays.
