Koumos is a place made with love, passion and stones from the White Mountains.
The petite stone village is located on the island of Crete, in the small town of Kalyves.
This site is a man’s lifelong dream which he turned into reality.

Koumos started as an idea in 1990, when the creator of this wonderful place, Giorgos Havaledakis, was 56 years old. Many believed that this was an impossible goal and yet he disproved them, with nature as an ally. Giorgos highlighted the natural beauty of the location and with love and the characteristic stones from the White Mountains created this estate.

Wander through our beautiful green courtyard and enjoy a refreshing beverage in the shadow of the olive trees.
Visit the folklore museum where objects from the personal collection of Giorgos are exhibited. It is a special place with objects from past years that have remained as a sign of Greek culture and tradition.

According to your preferences you have the option to choose upon request among a wide range of activities such as our loom workshop, a cooking class or to attend one of our Cretan nights to enjoy traditional food, local wine and Cretan dances.
